How do I combine or split PDFs?
Add documents from Files, then select the pages you want in the new PDF. Use a range such as 1-3, 5, 8-10 or select individual pages. Use Arrange pages to put the packet in order.
What is the difference between the modes?
Original preserves page text, vectors and annotations, and does not aim to make the file smaller. Balanced and Smaller rasterize pages, reducing image detail and flattening searchable text, links and forms. Inspect readability and visible form content.
Will the PDF meet every upload limit?
No. The exported byte count is the source of truth. A target may be unattainable, and compressing a small vector PDF can make it larger. The app compares against an Original export of the same selected pages. The recipient may have other file requirements.
Does PDFReady make scans searchable?
No. This version does not add OCR or searchable text. Scanned or compressed pages should be checked visually before upload.
What are the file and page limits?
Up to 100 MB per imported PDF and 200 pages per workspace. Custom targets use decimal MB and range from 0.05 to 100 MB. 0.25 MB means 250,000 bytes.
Why won’t a PDF open?
Password-protected PDFs need an unlocked copy. Invalid or zero-page files are rejected. A cloud item may need to finish downloading in Files first. Keep the source available and allow enough free storage for working copies.
Will signatures, bookmarks and forms survive?
Assembling a new PDF can invalidate digital signatures. Document-level bookmarks, embedded attachments and external page links are not retained. Original mode keeps page objects, but complex interactive forms should be checked in the recipient’s viewer. Compressed modes flatten forms and links.
Where are my documents stored?
Working copies and selections remain in the local workspace until you remove their pages or clear it. Originals stay where they were. Export files are temporary and cleared on the next launch; save a finished PDF through sharing if you need to keep it.
Why can’t I scan paper?
Scanning needs a supported device and camera permission. If permission is denied, use Open Settings to review it. Files and photo import remain alternatives.
